Alberto Abate (Rome 1946)

Though the formation of Abate is all roman he is advocating together with the other exponents of the movement Anacronista for a return to the art of painting. Though he has a natural propensity to the intense Gothic as a pre Raffael or as Ruskin in works like Il vaso di Pandora (2001) or Musa (1998). As he notice “ The Cathedrals are the beginning passages of great books of knowledge: they are the visible change of gold...”. But he is saturated in a mystical universe like Fernand Khnopff in Anatema from 1981 or, in his principal work a painting all Gothic stained-glass picture, like Gustave Moreau in another version of the Musa. All though he does not despise De Chirico and certain surrealist intonations (Incipit mare 1982) he keep present the researches of Boecklin (Elsopis 1981). In his biography one might emphasize several international separate exhibitions particularly in the United States (Washington, New York and Dallas) Dallas)
